the score of last night's game was incorrectly posted as 10-6 Seattle.
In fact, the final score was 6-1 Tribe.
See, we get a handicap when playing real major league teams, and if the Tribe is leading after 5 innings, the game is called right then and there.

That's two games in a row that we got out to a significant lead and not only did the pitching melt-down, but it's like the offense is pleased with their early inning production and just sort of relaxes.

Let's face it. Although there are some great players on this team (Thome, Burks, Vizquel), and although there is talent in the minors, THIS IS NOT A GOOD TEAM. In general, they wait around for something to happen to beat them. I thought that when Thome hit that walk off home run and when they took the first two from Oakland that maybe they would make the rest of the season interesting. But it doesn't look that way right now. It's the inconsistency that bothers me.

Lawton is close to being that sparkplug. He needs to keep working on his basestealing skills. It's not how often you steal that matters as much as are forcing the pitcher to pitch differently to the batters that follow you in the line-up.
Usually a good spurt of stolen bases without being caught will force the pitchers to change their pitching style even if the base-stealer slacks off some.

Lawton's not the problem.
Milton Bradley is the next best thing to Dick Allen on this team. He has all the tools and only uses them when he wants to, and when he's not sulking.
Guys like Bradley murder a clubhouse.
